Currently we have available ‘the largest Victorian apothecary draws in the uk in length,
measuring an incrediable 4.1m in length . Sourced from a private collection in South Wales .
When this came into our possoin we had light restoration carried out , so all the draws could be free moving and all close flush .
Also to maintain its beauty for at least another 100 years . A true rare piece , to be still in one length as throughout the generations this exceptional well crafted draws from old apothecary shops would normally be cut up , a true surviver !
Pine frame , planked back with mahogany draw fronts .
There are 112 draws ( 98 with Victorian cut glass pull knobs & 14 with turned mahogany handles )
All still with slightly faded original faded chemical names , that were all hand sign written .
Four dove tail joints & hand drilled holes for the glass turn pull handles .
As well as the 112 draws, there are now 7 additional large clean usable compartments at the bottom, with pull down draws .
We have had these boxed inside , as normally these compartments would just be open backed sitting on the floor. this makes them more usful in modern days .
All original frame with no adaptations in length. (One complete unit . ) RARE.
These are a Fantastic craftsmanship of the Victorian era ,the stories these beautiful charismatic draws could tell .
The beauty of these , is that the colour and depth of the wood changes throughout the day . In the evenings they seem to come alive !!
This is an exceptional example piece of apothecary history dating to around 1860 .
